Haiti - Politic : Installation of 2 new Secretaries of State

Since Monday 2 new Secretaries of State have been installed, one to the Territorial Communities, the second to Vocational training.

Monday, April 18, Anick François Joseph, Minister of Interior and Territorial Communities (MICT), in the presence among others of Director General of the Ministry, of Deputy Director General, Parliamentarians, coordinators and executives of the MICT, proceeded to the installation of Paul Harry Voltaire (former Directorate executive at the Ministry) as Secretary of State for Territorial Communities. He succeeds in this position to Audain Bernadel.

In his remarks circumstantial the new Secretary of State for Territorial Communities, considered his appointment as a return in a ministry he knows well for having been among other Technical Director, Director General and member of the Cabinet of MTIC.

He promised to carry out its task and to strengthen the financial autonomy of the communities and also work to improve the performance of Ministry for the benefit of citizens.

Wednesday, April 20, Abel Nazaire, Minister of Youth, Sports and Civic Action who replaced Jean Beauvois Dorsonne, the Minister of Education on mission in Costa Rica, has proceeded to the installation of former deputy Jean David Geneste as new Secretary of State for vocational Training. He succeeds in this position to Ms. Marina Gourgue.

In his remarks, the new Secretary of State, Jean David Geneste talked about the importance of the vocational training sector for the development of the country and stressed the considerable demand and lack of financial means the State faces. Aware of the difficulties, he is convinced that the task is not beyond his capacity. He mentioned in particular two objectives: provide the Ministry with an organic law (already tabled in Parliament by Marina Gourgue) and perform a survey in order to have a "mapping" of the vocational training sector.
