On the night from Friday to Saturday, March 5, to Béatrice, a suburb of Petit-Goâve, Gérard Victor, 65, was killed with a machete by his son aged 36, Dieufort Victor.

According to the testimony of another son, Gérald Victor (27 ), suffering from mental disorders, "the two men began to fight during the night," however, he was not able to indicate the causes of this fight.

The Peace Judge Jean Jude Léandre who visited the scene in order to draw up the minutes for legal suites, found several machete wounds on the body of the victim. The police of Petit-Goâve has arrested the murderer.
