The European Union reiterates its support for the efforts of the transitional authorities whose main task will be the culmination of the electoral process with the installation of a new President elected by the citizens of Haiti no later than 14 May and thus ensure political stability .

This political stability is essential to ensure the safety of citizens and to commit the country in the urgent reforms. They help put Haiti on the road for a better governance and of an economic, social and environmental development for the benefit of its entire population."
