"There are high hopes for a solution" dixit Ronald Sanders

After three days of meetings, Ronald Sanders, the Head of Mission of the Organization of American States (OAS), said he was impressed by the "remarkable intelligence" of the Haitian authorities, saying he was confident that a viable solution will be found in the coming days "If I believe what people say, they are determined to save their country and move forward so I think there are high hopes for a solution"...

Denial of G8...

Contrary to rumors that suggest that the G8 had met the Head of the State and conclude an agreement it is not so. Samuel Madistin the G8 spokesman, as Eric Jean-Baptiste and Sauveur Pierre Étienne two G8 members, have all denied the rumor saying that it was misinformation and confirming that there has been, neither meeting nor any agreement with President Martelly and the G8.

LAPEH wishes the retention of Evans Paul

According Anacacis Jean Hector, the Coordinator of the "Alternative League for Progress and the Haitian Emancipation" (LAPEH), it is preferable that Prime Minister Paul Evans remain in post after the departure of President Martelly, saying he must assume his office, as did Yvon Neptune after the departure of President Aristide in 2004.

The CELAC confident of an agreement

Wednesday, Ricardo Patiño, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ecuador, on behalf of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), expressed confidence in the possibility of reaching agreement in Haiti for a government transition process. Demonstration in Guyana without incident

Wednesday, nearly a thousand people, supporters of the ruling party and the candidate Jovenel Moïse, came together outside the offices of Radio Mosaïque, to the appeal of the Committee of Haitian citizens of Guyana, to say yes to elections and not to the transition. They demanded respect for democracy in Haiti and the holding of the second round of the presidential election. The demonstration took place without incident.
