"No, I will not participate in any second round" dixit Célestin

Jude Célestin, on a radio station in the Capital reiterated "No, I will not participate in any second round. I said it from the beginning," He announced that he will write to the CEP to ask him to refrain from print ballot or anything other in its name, what however is not a request for formal withdrawal, what knows very well Jude Célestin who obviously likes maintain ambiguous situations...

By cons, he denied rumors that want to suggest that he is nder pressure from the International Community for he participate in future competitions.

For his part Jean Hector Anacacis, coordinator of LAPEH says "Jude Célestin will not go to elections with Jovenel Moïse. If he participates, he will go alone. I ordered to all coordinators that they have no right to participate in meetings with anybody..."

First anticipation of blocking actions in the Senate

The Senator of Northwest, Evalière Beauplan (sole representative of PONT in the Senate) announced that the first act that will lay the Senators will be the adoption of a resolution affirming the impossibility of conducting the elections on 24 January, the suspension of all activities related to the elections and the cancellation of all the decrees issued by President Michel Martelly... nothing less !

The Prime Minister should he resign ?

With the opening of Parliament some think the government of Evans Paul will no longer be able to lead the country and consequently, Prime Minister Evans Paul will have to submit his resignation letter. For Central Plateau Senator Francisco Delacruz, once the new deputies and senators take seats in parliament he will have to go, because the Parliament can not function with a de facto Prime Minister, the latter have never been able to appear before Parliament as required by the Constitution.

Mirlande Manigat, the General Secretary of the Rally of Progressive National Democrats (RDNP) abounds in the same direction, however, she stresses that the Head of State may designate Evans Paul in order to obtain the legitimacy of legislators.

NOTICE : Handing of mandates to parties and affiliated groups

The Provisional Electoral Council inform the population as a whole, political parties, political groups and the two presidential candidates in particular, that in accordance with Articles 156 and following of the Electoral Decree, it proceeds to the delivery of mandates the 15 and 16 January 16, 9:00 am 4:00 pm, to the Directorate of electoral operations, located in the road of Frères at number 133. The Council, once again, recommends to the parties and groups to ensure that their representatives that will be deployed January 24, 2016, are assigned in the Voting centers where their names appear on the voter list. Otherwise, they will not able to vote.
