Haiti - Social : January 12 declared Day of Commemoration and Reflection

The Ministry of Communication, on behalf of the Government of the Republic salutes the memory of the victims of the earthquake that hit Haiti on January 12, 2010 and took the opportunity to inform the population that, by order dated January 6, 2016, "Tuesday, January 12, 2016 is declared day of commemoration and reflection dedicated to the memory of the victims of the disaster caused by the earthquake that devastated the country January 12, 2010"

Consequently, during this day, the national flag will be flown at half mast, nightclubs and other similar establishments remain closed, and television and radio stations are invited to schedule emissions and appropriate music.

This day of commemoration and reflection, which is not a day not worked, must invite us to strengthen the spirit of solidarity and mutual assistance which had animated every Haitian during this disaster and challenge each of us on the necessity to unite to move towards sustainable development.
