Saturday, following the publication of the final results of the second round of legislative elections of October 25, 2015, thousands of protesters to the appeal of the plural opposition contesting the results published by the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-16100-haiti-flash-deputies-final-results-of-the-2nd-round-of-october-25-2015.html https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-16099-haiti-flash-final-results-of-the-2nd-round-of-senatorial-of-october-25-2015.html estimating that they do not reflect the vote of voters, took the streets and protested often with violence in cities across the country causing extensive damage...

The provisional assessment is already reported numerous incidents and damage.

In Les Cayes (South) streets were blocked by barricades, many windshield of vehicles were broken by stone-throwing of protesters in anger... In Terrier rouge (Northeast) of violence were reported, MOPOD activists or supporters set fire to the Communal Electoral Office (BEC) smashed windows and vandalized the local library, blocked roads with burning tires... In clashes between factions, a young demonstrator (18) was shot dead. In the nearby town of Ferrier, another polling station was burned, as well as the mayor's office. The police and special brigades had to intervene on numerous occasions to restore order, also report incidents to Trou du Nord, in Port-de-Paix, Grand Goâve and Archaie. In the Northwest several houses were burned and schools damaged. However, the situation in Port-au-Prince was relatively quiet.

Gregory Mayard Paul, a spokesman for Tet Kale party declared "It will take time for some Haitians to understand that democracy means that some candidates win, other candidates lose. It doesn't mean you should go out and burn tires and destroy things if you are unhappy with the results, but not everyone understands this yet [...]"
