Haiti - Health : Donation of medical equipment by American Red Cross

Thursday, as part of two major projects "Gran Nò pi djanm" and "Lavi miyò nan katye pa m" of the Haitian Red Cross (HRC) funded by the American Red Cross, the latter proceeded with the symbolic handover (list) to the HRC, through the Ministry of Public Health, of materials and medical equipment (modern dental chairs, lookup tables, incubators, beds, surgical kits, microscopes and others) with a value of close to 280,000 US dollars.

These medical equipment donated by the American Red Cross, are for 26 health institutions of departments of North, Northeast, Northwest and West in order to enhance access to primary care for the most vulnerable populations in targeted areas of intervention of the American Red Cross in consultation with the Government of Haiti and to improve the quality of health services including: minor surgery, obstetrics, internal medicine and pediatrics.

Note that these materials and equipment were identified by departmental directorates in Haiti according to their priorities and in relation to the health status of their department.
