"There will be no elections on December 27 ..." dixit Moïse Jean-Charles

Moïse Jean Charles, candidate for president under the banner "Piti Dessalin" and member of the G8, says "there will be no election on 27 December with Jovenel Moïse in the race..." Furthermore, in agreement with the G8, he requires the departure of several electoral advisers and changes in the government, claiming that it was only after satisfaction of all of these claims, that we can move forward in the electoral process...

Maryse Narcisse on appeal to the Inter-American Court of Human Rights

Maryse Narcisse and Fanmi Lavals petitioned before the Inter-American Court of Human Rights (IACHR) to request the creation of a commission of independent experts to verify the results of the first round of the presidential election of October 25, in order to safeguard their political rights and respect the vote of the Haitian people

Note that regardless of the decision of the IACHR, this Court has no real binding power over the State against which it not pronounces a judgment.

Statement by US Ambassador Peter Mulrean

Thursday, Peter Mulrean, US Ambassador accredited to Haiti, during the year-end cocktail of AMCHAM (American Chamber of Commerce in Haiti) recalled from his official residence "The United States have always said they do not support any particular party or candidate. What we support is the political process that exists here in Haiti. We want to see a better future for Haiti. We are a true partner of Haiti."

The Commission of the Government does not please

The coalition of observation organizations (CONAHNE, RNDDH, CNO et SOFA...) continues to require the establishment of an independent Commission on the elections of 25 October. Edouard Paultre, coordinator of CONAHNE argues that the Commission should be composed of individuals of integrity and ability, who know the issues of research and statistics.

The coalition also condemns the decision of the Executive to have proceded to the formation of an interministerial commission to gather the views of different stakeholders, with a view to improving the second round of presidential elections of 27 December.
