Not possible to cancel the elections according to Evans Paul

Prime Minister Evans Paul, indicated that within the framework of the Interministerial Commission formed by the government to try to smooth the issues for the second round of elections, the various actors need to reach agreement by taking account in particular of two facts: the CEP must hear the claims of the majority who demand an audit of the election results of October 25 and second protesters must understand that it is not possible to cancel elections. Evans Paul recalled that the current timetable was adopted by consensus and therefore a possible postponement of the second round is unlikely, reiterating that the two constitutional dates, the second Monday in January 2016 and February 7 must be respected.

Jovenel Moïse motivated and determined

Jovenel Moïse, presidential candidate under the banner of PHTK announced he had already visited ten departments of the country as part of his pre-electoral campaign, saying "The elections are a fight, my team and I are motivated and determined."

egarding his meeting with CEP he said having "called for a better training of members of Polling Stations," after having found serious shortcomings on the part of MBV, particularly in the drafting of the minutes "[...] Over 40,000 people work for the CEP. We know there are 14 ways to put away the minutes. This was one of the major issues discussed with CEP," hoping that corrections will be made after the meeting before the last round of elections, scheduled for 27 December.

Noisy demonstration in the streets of the capital

Thursday, at the initiative of Fanmi Lavalas, LAPEH and "Pitit Desalin" several thousand people, mostly supporters of Fanmi Lavalas, have taken to the streets to denounce once again the electoral fraud last October 25 and request the cancellation of the elections.

All along the route the demonstrators threw slogans against the Head of State, Prime Minister and electoral advisers. A new demonstration, is scheduled tomorrow, Saturday.

LAPEH request the postponement of the election date

Thursday, the party leaders of the "Alternative League for Progress and the Haitian Emancipation (LAPEH) and the National Movement of the Popular Opposition (MONOP) requested the postponement of the second round of elections and put forward a political transition for the continuation of the electoral process.

LAPEH is convinced that with this CEP, which he requests the dissolution, it can not be credible and democratic elections in the circumstances. He asks, furthermore a change of command in some departmental directorates and some units of the National Police of Haiti.

Recall that LAPEH and MOPOD together, even if they claim to speak on behalf of the Haitian people, represent less than 27% of the votes cast in the last election.
