France wants the continuation of the electoral process despite the crisis

She recalled that the organization of elections is the only democratic way to designate national leaders, a statement in line with the official position of Core Group (Ambassadors of Brazil, Canada, France, Spain, United States of America, the European Union and the Special Representative of the Organization of American States).

Seizures of machetes during a demonstration of the opposition

On Thursday, opposition supporters have again demonstrated in the streets of Port-au-Prince to denounce the "electoral coup" for the benefit of those in power, while opened the campaign for the second round of presidential elections, scheduled on December 27. In a statement, the Provisional Electoral Council "informs the parties, political groups in general and population in particular, that the call centers, will operate daily from 6 am to 10 pm am pm, for the period of 27 November to December 27, 2015.

The Council strongly encourages everyone to call in 8828 for subscribers of NATCOM and 8830 for those of DIGICEL, by roviding the operator with all digits of his card CIN, to identify their voting center. The 8829 numbers (NATCOM) and 8831 (Digicel) are reserved for SMS.

NOTICE: Registration of representatives and national observers

The Provisional Electoral Council (CEP), in accordance with Articles 156 and following of the Electoral Decree, announced to parties, political associations and electoral observation organizations in general and the two presidential candidates, iin particular, that it proceeds, from November 27 to December 6, 2015, inclusive, to the electronic registration of representatives and national observers.

This activity, previously scheduled for November 20 to 16, did not take place, because of the delay due to the treatment of challenges. The Council informs, moreover, that the registration of representatives of other political parties and groups, will take place after the publication of final results of the legislative.
