Tuesday, Dr. Florence Duperval Guillaume, Minister of Public Health and Ambassador Hwang Tsai Chiu, of the Republic of China (Taiwan) signed a donation agreement of equipments at the cutting edge of technology, for trauma interventions worth 200,000 US dollars and of partnership between the hospital Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Bon Repos and the IDA the greatest Hospital of Taiwan.

Taiwan is also committed to this agreement, to attend the training of Haitian medical specialists in the fields: orthopedics, urgency, otorhinolaryngology, neurosurgery and trauma.

Exchanges between Taiwanese specialists and their Haitian colleagues in order to strengthen the implementation of specialized health services in hospitals in Haiti are included in this agreement.

Furthermore, the Minister Guillaume announced the forthcoming signing of a new agreement with Taiwan concerning the cardiovascular surgery, which will allow to achieve in Haiti, open heart surgery.
