Haiti - Security : A Haitian shot dead near the border

Friday morning, the lifeless body of a Haitian trader Nériel Aristide was found bearing traces of bullet wounds in Boukan Malfini, a locality of El Limón, small Dominican border town adjacent to the commune of Fonds-Verrettes (Eastern Port of Port-au-Prince).

Mr. Aristide, who was engaged in garlic trade and charcoal, had crossed the day before with two bags of garlic, but never returned. Worried, his family were looking for him and the latter made the gruesome discovery in an area where Nériel Aristide used to make charcoal from wood.

Dominican friends of Aristide, points to one of their compatriot, known as Santo which according to them could be responsible for this crime, recalling that following the assassination of Santo father in 2014, attributed to Haitians, Santo had vowed revenge.

However, one can not rule out that Nériel Aristide have been victims of charcoal and garlic traffickers raging at the border.

Aristide Nériel 44 years was married with 6 children.
