Haiti - Politic : Double inauguration in Canapé Vert

Thursday, President Michel Martelly proceeded to Canapé Vert, at the inauguration of an important Community Centre and a football field in Sainte Marie.

The Community Centre includes among others 5 offices, one of which will be used by the Board of Directors of the Communal Section (CASEC) and the other 4 will house community platforms in the area. This Centre will provide a space for discussion and reflection where can meet all community leaders in order to participate and contribute to improving the living conditions of Canapé Vert residents.

Note that in this same perspective, the localities of Morne Lazarre, Morne Hercule, Nerrette and Jalousie have already each a Community Centre.

Thereafter, always in Canapé Vert in the locality of Sainte Marie, the Head of State has officially opened a football field covered with artificial turf. With a total area of 1,800 m2, this sports infrastructure includes two dressing rooms and a terrace of 2,000 places.

Satisfied with these achievements, the President congratulated the Housing Construction and Public Buildings Unit (UCLBP), welcomed the support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and encouraged the Canapé Vert residents to properly maintain these infrastructures, which are spaces to facilitate the promotion of peace, unity and social cohesion within the population.
