Haiti - Petit-Goâve : Call for National Unity of Minister of Social Affairs

Saturday in the framework of the commemoration of the 209 anniversary of the assassination of Jean Jacques Dessalines, the founder of the Fatherland, Ariel Henry, the Ministers of Social Affairs, during his visit in Petit-Goâve, has appealed to the national unity. On the sidelines his participation in the funeral of Professor Jean Max Louijas sung at the Catholic church of Petit Goâve, Minister Henry declared on Radio Préférence "For me, Dessalines presents the ideal a gathering of the son and daughters of this country regardless of their social status and their origin. It is also an ideal of solidarity and national unity. He had a vision of social justice, a vision that everyone has a place in the country and that everyone can get its part of national wealth. Dessalines wanted everyone to live as brothers and sisters and all the oppressed are liberated, liberated from poverty and injustice.

We who are the descendants of Dessalines, it's an opportunity for us to see where we are and to examine the path to take to regain unity despite our differences about how to lead the country. We must unite to defeat poverty, discouragement and idleness.

We also believe that it is a moment of reflection that should encourage us to go beyond our differences, our divisions. Today we live in a democratic difficult period, a period of elections. We must not forget that we are all daughters and son of the same land. We are condemned to live together. We must do everything to remain united and respect each other.

The elections are a moment of differences, but it is necessary to avoid exacerbating social divisions and further tearing the social fabric. I want to say to Petit-Goâviens, we are son and daughters of the same homeland, we are called to live together and that the election period does not make us lose our head. That it does not prevent us to unite. So, let's think about tomorrow."
