Thursday afternoon, in Roche-à-Bateaux area (South Department), the campaign caravan of the PHTK Platform, has been the victim of a violent attack.

According to the statement of PHTK "a group of individuals wearing t-shirts from another party, threw stones and bottles on a gathering of the Platform PHTK, to disperse the crowd waiting the arrival of the presidential candidate, Jovenel Moïse and other candidates of the South Department. During the assault at least two PHTK supporters were seriously injured and rushed to hospital."

PHTK candidates have not left intimidated. After the incident, they still continue to campaign in the area.

The PHTK condemns with the utmost firmness, this unworthy act of democracy and urges the the Electoral Council and the authorities to make every effort so that light be shed and that justice is done.
