Haiti - Social : Formal denial of the PNH

In a press release, Godson Orélus, the Director General of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) "formally denied the various allegations circulating on social networks, that suggest that the families of the deceased police officers Barnave Porcenat and Occil Edmond, coldly shot in Cité Soleil https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-15144-haiti-flash-two-police-officers-shot-down.html , would not receive any support of the Administration of the PNH."

Godson Orélus recalls that "funeral expenses of members of the PNH fallen in the exercise of their function and the subsidies to their dependents are regularly supported by an internal structure called 'Medico-Social Service'.

Regarding the two decease concerned by these rumors, the funeral of Barnave Porcenat were planned jointly with the bereaved family and organized Saturday, September 26, 2015 while the funeral of Occil Edmond were postponed to give time to his wife, who was about to give birth.

Hoping that these clarifications will help to dispel any misunderstanding, the PNH Directorate, renews its sympathy to the families and friends of fallen officers."
