Haiti - USA : Agreement to fight against forgery of travel documents
Thursday in an agreement signed by Me Pierre-Richard Casimir, the Minister of Justice and Brian Shukan, the acting Chargé d'Affaires f the US Embassy in Haiti, it was agreed, on behalf of the two Governments, to create a joint mission to fight against the falsification of visas, passports and other types of travel documents. This agreement also provides to investigate on the crimes related affecting both countries.
The Ministry of Justice, as an organ of supervision of the National Police of Haiti, is committed to strengthening the security of US visa applicants, including close to US Embassy and protect them against counterfeiting.
Under the agreement, the Ministry intends to respond to complaints and grievances of Haitian citizens victims of fraud cases from scammers pretending to be representatives of the US Consulate.
