Haiti - Social : National Tribute to Max Beauvoir

Following the death occurred Saturday of the Ati National of Haitian Vodou, Max Beauvoir, https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-15125-haiti-flash-max-beauvoir-passed-away-a-great-loss-for-the-country-dixit-martelly.html Prime Minister Evans Paul paid a visit Sunday at the bereaved family to express the sympathy of the President of the Republic and those of his wife and the government.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Paul Evans met with the daughter and step-son of the deceased, the couple Rachel and Didier Dominique. By mutual agreement, it was decided to hold Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at the Champ de Mars a "national tribute" in Port-au-Prince, in memory of this illustrious disappeared, founder member of the National Confederation of Haitian Vodou and Religions for Peace.

"To the relatives and friends of the deceased, to the members of the voodoo community, members of Religions for Peace, the Government of the Republic of Haiti extends its sincere condolences."

In a statement, the President Michel Martelly, says he has learned with emotion the sad news of the death, of the National Ati Max Beauvoir "On behalf of the Government and people of Haiti, the Head of State extends its sincere condolences to the family, relatives and friends of the deceased, and to all practitioners of the Vodou religion [...]" recalling that Francois Max Gesner Beauvoir was "a man of great culture and a great defender of our ancestral practices. He was elevated to the rank of national Ati, supreme leader of Haitian voodoo, during a ceremony at Mariani (Gressier) March 7, 2008 at the initiative of the National Confederation of Haitian vodouisants (CNVH)."
