Monday at the National Palace, the President Michel Martelly, received 104 new Haitian scholarship holders of the 3rd promotion, that left the country that same day to begin graduate studies in Mexico. These young boys and girls, rom the 10 departments of the country, will join the 197 Haitian students scholars [promotions 2013 and 2014] already pursuing their 4-years studies in Mexico, in more than 40 universities and technical institutes.

This group of 104 scholars comes complete the objective of 300 scholarships, set in the South-South partnership between Haiti and Mexico https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-7269-haiti-education-mexico-grants-300-scholarships.html , that should lead to the formation of high level professionals who can participate in the development of the country.

"I want to address to each of you my warmest congratulations and enjoy this opportunity to tell you that your selection as scholars https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-13409-haiti-notice-104-scholarships-for-mexico-call-for-candidates.html you owe it to your efforts, your discipline and your personal merit which highlighted your talents, your intelligence and your perseverance in your studies [...] the country expects especially from you, like your elders who were before you, a worthy behavior, exemplary and irreproachable as part of your studies, the guarantee of your success that will certainly open the doors for future scholars," proudly declared the Head of State, in the presence, among others, of Lener Renaud, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador of Haiti in Mexico, Guy Lamothe and that of Mexico accredited to Haiti, José Luis Alvarado.

The President Martelly has not failed to address to the Government of Mexico the sincere thanks of the Haitian government and to salute the vitality and the excellent bilateral relations between the two countries over the past three years, in several areas of cooperation including on cultural and scientific cooperation.
