Haiti - Tourism : Things are moving everywhere !

Interview with US magazine The New Yorker

Wednesday, Stéphanie Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism gave an interview to the American magazine The New Yorker, on large tourist development projects for the South Coast.

RIAT-South in Les Cayes

On Thursday, the Minister of Tourism chaired a technical workshop in Les Cayes, in the framework of RIAT-South (Integrated regions of Touristic Development).

She was accompanied on the panel by Michael de Landsheer of the Ministry of Economy and Finance and Marie Bonard of the Interamiricaine Development Bank (IDB).

Andy Durosier, the Director of the Studies and Programming Unit of the Ministry of Tourism, presented the various components of Coastal Sustainable Tourism Program.

The RIAT-South program, financed by the IDB, was launched on September 2 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-15031-haiti-tourism-30-tourist-projects-will-start-on-the-south-coast.html and falls within the framework of strengthening and consolidation of the tourism sector of the great South. RIAT South is focused on two major components: Strengthening tourism products and tourism Governance and capacities development.

Two hotel development companies, interested in Haiti

Friday, Stéphanie Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism met Michael Ahmad & Randy Mortensen, two representatives of hotel development companies in the Caribbean, respectively, Adam Development Urbahn Associated and World Wide Village, interested in potential investments in Haiti.

Monitoring of works on the Fort-Jacques site

Friday, Dithny Joan Raton, Minister of Culture, and Patrick Durandis, Director General of the the Haitian Institute for the Protection of National Heritage (ISPAN), made a visit to Fort-Jacques, to assess the progress of site rehabilitation.
