Haiti - Agriculture : National Survey to Estimate Agricultural Production

The Ministry of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Rural Development (MARNDR), informs the public in general and the growers in particular, that it will realize during the month of September 2015, a National Survey to Estimate Agricultural Production (ENEPA) on the campaign spring 2015 throughout the national territory.

This survey will allow the Ministry to collect reliable and relevant data on the production of major crops and livestock of the main species exploited in the country, from a sample of producers, in order to generate estimates of the production agro pastoral of the national campaign spring 2015.

The results of this survey will be used by the State, NGOs, International Organizations, University, associations, cooperatives, groups, to growers in taking better decisions on policies, strategies and interventions as part of the development of the agricultural sector and the rural world.

Preliminary results of this survey will be presented in November, 2015.

This survey will be executed by the Sub-structure for Agricultural Statistics and Informatics (SSSAI) and Agricultural Regional Directorates of the Ministry with technical support from the National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) of the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) and FAO. This operation receives the financial support of the Haitian Government, the Food Security Thematic Programme (FSTP) and the European Union and of Program Participating Agency Service Agreement (PASA) of the International Development Agency of the United States of America (USAID).
