Haiti - Tourism : Reliabe and safe tourist taxis in the metropolitan area

Thursday, at a press conference, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Industries (MTIC) launched a project to support drivers of tourist taxis in the metropolitan area of Port-au-Prince in order to make reliable and safe the service of visitors transportation from the hotels of Petionville and downtown.

To this end, six new tourist taxis were given to representatives of two associations driver guides: Independent Drivers Association for Tourism Development (ACIDT) and the Association of Drivers Guidi of Haiti (ACGH).

"The MCIT has set itself the task to accompany the drivers of these associations by allowing them to have a proper training and a good fleet of cars adapted for optimum tourist transport service to tourists who make choice of Haiti [...]" said Maryse Noel Director General of Ministry. Note that the drivers of the ACIDT and ACGH have been trained for two months to provide an adequate service to visitors during their experience of the destination.

For her part, Johanne Barthelemy, the Deputy Coordinator of Promotion Department, Travel and Events of MTIC, explained that in accordance with the drivers, a price list of circuits and contact information of these associations are now online at the promotional website of the Ministry. 

Note that these exclusive taxis can transport up to 3 passengers will be at the service of customers in four hotels in Petionville and in two hotels based in the heart of the Haitian capital.
