Haiti - Politic : The GJH invited Youth to civic engagement

Tuesday, as part of the International Youth Day (Wednesday, 12 August), the Young President of Haiti, Amos Cincir of Government Youth Haiti announced at a press conference the realization of a week of activities to be held from August 12 to 15 in Port-au-Prince and several provincial cities, which will include training sessions on "leadership, citizenship and the environment".

The objective of this celebration, according to the young president Cincir is to encourage young people to appropriating more the World Action Programme for Youth that declines strong actions to promote young people in the following priority areas: education, employment, malnutrition, poverty, health, environment, drug abuse, juvenile delinquency, leisure and the full participation of youth in social affairs and in decision making "the International youth Day is an opportunity to recognize the achievements of girls and young women as agents of change and volunteers on the ground. This gives us all the chance to celebrate our contribution to the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and to show how important it is for young people to get involved in sustainable development goals."
