After having walked on the Maximo Gomez avenue, numerous "cañeros" (sugar cane workers) gathered once again in front of the Embassy of Haiti in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. to demand that the government of Haiti delivers them identity documents (paid) they need to regularize their immigration status in the Dominican Republic.

The trade unionist Jesus Nunez, Cañeros Spokesperson and Coordinator of the Union of sugarcane workers in the bateyes delivered a letter to the charge d'affaires Magalie Jeanty Magloire ensuring the interim at the Embassy of Haiti in Santo Domingo in the absence of an ambassador.

Further it notes that "the Union of sugarcane workers value the letter from Daniel Supplice https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-14613-haiti-diplomacy-daniel-supplice-does-not-fear-to-tell-the-truth.html (the Ambassador was recently resigned from office https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-14612-icihaiti-diplomacy-the-ambassador-of-haiti-in-dr-suspended.html ) for having shown very responsible, humane and correct [...] he has exposed the irresponsibility of the Government of Haiti, for the non-delivery of documents to their nationals."

He also recalled that "[...] during the 92 days that Daniel Supplice has served as Ambassador of Haiti, he has facilitated an identification sheet (to more than 7,000 Haitian" https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-14432-haiti-politic-failure-of-pidih-a-fiasco-of-$2-million.html ) and had streamlined processes," adding "This hope for sugarcane workers [...]"

Concluding "Given the negligence and irresponsibility of the authorities of Haiti, its President Michel Martelly, the 'cañeros' have no other choice that to continue to promote marches and rallies in order to force the government Haiti to respond to its citizens."

Note that we still do not know the reasons for the revocation of the Ambassador Supplice. In an interview on CNN Spanish last week, to the show "Conclusiones", Lener Renauld the Minisitre of Foreign Affairs, asked about it by the Mexican journalist Fernando del Rincón, dismissed rumors suggesting that Daniel Supplice would has been suspended "for his criticism of the shortcomings in the national documentation program of nationals for their regularization," asserting that "Daniel Supplice has the right to opine and I know, this is not the fact of criticizing the migration plan in general, that makes he was suspended," but then what are these mysterious reasons that no one wants to say...?
