Haiti - Social : 25 Haitian boat people, landed near Boynton Inlet

Saturday morning, a boat carrying illegal migrants landed north of Boynton Beach entrance near Boynton Inlet in Palm Beach County, Florida.

After a fisherman, has signaled with his radio, around 10:30 am, that a boat had landed and that many people had run ashore, the officer Darin Hederian went on the scene and discovered the empty boat of its passengers and alerted the dispatch of the city police.

The sheriff's office in Palm Beach, the Coast Guard of the United States, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and Manalapan police helped the Boynton Beach Police in the search operation which allowed to find 27 migrants hidden in bushes along the State Road A1A, 25 of them were of Haitian origin.

According to preliminary information the migrants left the Bahamas and had no need of medical attention when they arrived on shore. They were handed over to the US Border Patrol which will then decide if they will be returned to their country.
