Haiti - Leogane : 4,000 displaced families, 250 houses flooded

The city of Leogane, 32 kilometers south of Port-au-Prince, has been particularly affected by the weather of recent days "More than 4,000 families living in tents are affected and 250 houses were flooded," said the Direction of Civil protection. The heavy rains have rendered many roads impassable in and around Haiti's capital, more rains are expected on Tuesday.

A low pressure center off the coast of Nicaragua is now producing a large area of disorganized thunderstorms and rain in the southwestern Caribbean. However low layers of humidity which combines with the drying up in layers of medium altitude will continue to produce diurnal instability with thunderstorms and rain in some area departments until at least Tuesday night.
