In a statement the Haitian Football Federation (FHF), confirms with regret that two of the 23 players selected for the present Gold Cup, Jean Jacques Pierre (team captain) and Jeff Louis, globally dissatisfied with their position in the group, abandoned the delegation at the time of flying Saturday from Boston to Kansas City and they will therefore not be available for the last qualifying match for the quarterfinals of the group, Honduras-Haïti of Monday 13 July.

The FHF also denied for the American press that the two "missing players" are players "ki sauvé" as happened once like the Cubans and specifies that it is cases of indiscipline of dissatisfied players of their status in the team that played against the USA. The FHF who deplored this unprecedented behavior, unjustifiable and unacceptable with respect to our national team, informed the CONCACAF, FIFA and the clubs of the players for appropriate action. The secretariat of the FHF will seize incessantly its ethics committees and of discipline.

Furthermore the FHF vigorously denies rumors that suggest that women were introduced to the Hotel in the evening of the match against Panama. The FHF specifies that only two players were allowed to spend the afternoon with their wives and their children (who lived in the United States) they had not seen for over one month.

FHF would like finally reassure everyone of the sports family, all Haitians, that the national team has already forgotten the incident and continues in serenity and the greatest calm, to focus and working on Monday's match. The Haitian Football Federation invites Haitian fans to forget this episode and to commune even remotely, by thought and especially by faith with the Grenadiers for the success of the match on Monday evening in the Honduran fief.
