Haiti - Music : Last tribute to Michel Tassy

Saturday, Dithny Joan Raton, the Minister of Culture went to Cap-Haïtien, in order to pay a last tribute to the musician regretted of the Septentrional group, Michel Tassy, died on the night of 28 to 29 June suites pulmonary accident at the age of 71.

"This morning, I just came to tell you, in the words of the poet Henry Scott Holland, to continue to give Michel Tassy the name always given to him, talk to him as we have always done, because his works continue to tell us, hitting our sensibilities as in the first contacts," declared Minister at the City Hall of Cap where the remains were exposed.

Ms. Raton who presented her condolences to relatives, friends and families affected by the departure of this icon of Haitian music, highlighted "Culture has not lost because Michel Tassy was a member of a school and the cultural landscape of Haiti has raised a lot of the artistic harvest of talent of this beautiful school."

Michel Tassy's funeral took place at Cap-Haitien Cathedral in front of thousands people, officials, musicians and fans of Michel, came from around the country.
