Haiti - Toronto Games : Joseph Edouard failed in weightlifting

Saturday, as part of the Pan American Games which takes place in Toronto (Canada) from July 10 to 26, the Haitian athlete, Joseph Edouard (25 years) participated in Oshawa Sports Centre, to the weightlifting competitions (56 kg category).

Unfortunately things do not go well for Joseph Edward who did not finish the competition (DNF), he only achieved one clean and jerk 135 kg, on the 3 attempts, and failed his three snatch respectively 110kg, 111kg and 111 kg.

The gold medal was won by Colombian Habib de las Salas de la Rosa with 117kg in the snatch and 152 kg in the clean and jerk (Pan Am record). The silver by Colombian Carlos Andres Berna Gonzalez with 116kg in the snatch and 149 kg in the clean and jerk and bronzeto the Dominican Luis Garcia Brito with 115kg in the snatch and 141 kg in the clean and jerk.

Weightlifting Women (cat. 69 kg) :

Tuesday Medgina Celestin, 17 years old, will participate in the women's weightlifting 69kg category competition. Recall that Medgina participated in the 2014 Central American and Caribbean Games in the under 75 kg, at the 2014 Pan American weightlifting championships in the under 69 kg and became the first athlete from Haiti to compete at the world youth championships in 2011.
