Senegal and Haiti, respectively represented by Madické Niang, Minister of State and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Evans Lescouflair, Haitian Minister of Youth and Sports have signed an framework agreement of cooperation and a memorandum of understanding concerning the reception and settlement of Haitians in Senegal.

The cooperation agreement aims to strengthen and diversify bilateral relations in political, social, economic, environmental, educational, cultural and humanitarian fields. Through the MoU, Senegal specifically agrees to facilitate the reception, training and social and professional integration of Haitian nationals in Senegal.

The State Minister, hoped that this meeting is the beginning of a fruitful and irreversible deepening of cooperation between the two countries in the image of the sincerity of the relationships that bind the two peoples.

The Haitian Minister thanked the Senegalese authorities for hosting the students from his country and for all the efforts made since the earthquake. He also stated that this agreement will strengthen bilateral and reflects an effective return of Haitians on the land of their ancestors.
