Haiti - Jacmel : A shopkeeper fire by error an INITE billsticker

On the night of Monday 11 to Tuesday, October 12, 2010 around 2:00 am, Tony Mondesir, who owns a clothing store, shot Jean Marc Lawrence, a young man of 24, a supporter of the party "INITE" which put posters within the framework of the electoral campaign, hitting him in the abdomen by a bullet of 9mm.

The merchant whose shop was looted recently alerted by a suspicious noise, believed to be dealing with a burglar, seeing the student in the darkness, he fired in the direction of the individual. The victim was transported to the Hopital Saint Michel de Jacmel.

It is the magistrate's of the court of Jacmel, Lozamar Louis Exile, which made the legal conclusion. Petit Jacques Onécifort, spokesman of the police regional of South East said "after an investigation by the Haitian National Police (PNH) of the Southeast, it became clear that Tony Mondesir [the shopkeeper] had in his possession a weapon of 9mm, whose detention is unlawful. The alleged culprit was apprehended by agents of the police in Jacmel and will be transferred to the Justice for judicial action in this matter.
