Former Senator of Centre Ultimo Compère, rejected for foreign nationality, but recovered on May 24 https://www.haitilibre.com/article-13983-haiti-flash-le-cep-accepte-341-nouveaux-candidats-liste.html to participate in the senatorial of August 9, 2015 in the Central Department, was removed from the list of candidates approved by the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP).

In a press release the CEP informs the population in general and political parties in particular, that "the named Ultimo Compere [Renmen Ayiti] was removed from the list of approved candidates to participate in the legislative elections of 2015, for having communicated to the Council false information, act that constitutes a crime under articles 209 and following of the Electoral Decree.

It remains understood that the CEP, while striving to ensure the strict implementation of the Electoral Decree, also invites the public to bring to its attention any information that may help to apply and enforce the Law.

Consequently, the case of Ultimo Compere will be brought in front the competent criminal authorities for legal purposes."

With this removing, the number of candidates in the Senate is now 232 and 23 candidates for the Central Department.
