Friday at the Karibe Convention Center in Petionville, ended the 58th regular meeting of the Commission of the World Tourism Organization for the Americas (WTOA) which brought together 22 of the 25 member countries of the Americas Committee (CAM) around the theme of "multi-destination opportunities for regional integration." Other famous people, who work in the tourism sector growth across the Americas region participated in this meeting.

In his introductory remarks, Taleb Rifai, Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), stressed that all tourist destinations complement each other. In his opinion the growth of 4.4% registered of world tourism in 2014 can continue, if by chance, the focus is on the complementarity of destinations.

The multi-destination opportunities for regional integration; the importance of the travel routes in the context of regional cooperation agreements; the development of multi-destination products; the role of development banks and regional organizations in financing tourism infrastructure and the role of industry operators, such were the main topics discussed in the various working sessions spread during the 3 days of the Summit.

Recall that during these meetings two documents were signed. This is, firstly, the World Tourism Ethics Code established by UNWTO signed by 14 representatives of the Haitian private sector of tourism https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-13954-haiti-tourism-global-code-of-ethics-for-tourism-the-private-sector-commits.html and secondly, a declaration on the opportunities of multi-destination for regional integration adopted unanimously by delegates and leaders of the industry globally.

Moreover, this 58th meeting also favored bilateral meetings between delegates from various member countries present including Haiti and the Seychelles Islands.
