Haiti - FLASH : Laurent Lamothe, presidential candidate

Yesterday evening the former Prime Minister of Haiti Laurent Lamothe, for 31 months from May 2012 to December 2014, went to the Departmental Electoral Office (BED) Ouest 1, on the road of Frères, to file its documents (he filed at 10:35:31 p.m. all 14 pieces required), after having pre-registered on the online system of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) to be Presidential candidate under the banner of platform Peyizan.

He was accompanied by a crowd waving his picture and the name of Lamothe on red placard. On social networks the presidential candidate said before his arrival "The work begins. Acting, we will act for the people (for the masses)."

"[...] I came here tonight to make an act of democracy. I submitted all my pieces so that I can continue the work that was started. It is the people that gives power. It is the people that gives power. I'm here, I came here because I have found that I can not sit idly in front of misery, in front of the drought, front of hunger, that the population experience every day, every day that God brings, we can not sit idly front of the tribulations of the masses. So we came to do this act today to give us a chance, I did not need to be President to be President, it's working for working I need, we came to work. I registered with all the documents that the Electoral Decree request," declared Laurent Lamothe after the deposit of its documents.

Now, the documents filled by Laurent Lamothe will have to be reviewed by CEP, if its application is accepted it may also be challenged at the Office of the departmental electoral litigation (BCED) and to the Office of the National electoral litigation (BCEN).
