The CEP provides explanations on exclusions of candidates

Moseler Georges, Executive Director of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) said the majority of cases of excluded candidates to the Senate and for the deputation, have been because of the nationality certificate issued by the Immigration and Emigration Service and also because of the title.

Regarding the nationality certificate he reminds that candidates have to formulate their application eight days prior to their registration, stating that the CEP was awaiting a report from the Immigration and Emigration Service, before taking a final decision on cases.

As for the title, he said that candidates had to submit a certified copy issued by a notary and that instead, some applicants submitted a photocopy, while in other cases BED sometimes refused to keep the original title and make a single copy.

Finally the last "final" list of legislative candidates, published by the CEP, risk once again to be revised...

Statements of France and Germany on the elections

Friday on the sidelines of the final of contest of "advocacy on human rights" at the Lycée Alexandre Dumas. Elisabeth Beton Delègue, Ambassador of France accredited to Port-au-Prince and his counterpart from Germany, Klauss Peter Schick, reacted on the elections in Haiti.

"All Haitians must mobilize to vote and claim this legitimate right which consists of choosing their government, their president and their elected, affirmed the Ambassador of France.

The Klauss Ambassador Peter Shick that abounds in the same direction as the Ambassador of France, for his part insisted "It is necessary to show a political will, to show that one really decided to go to elections." Regarding the cost of elections he claims to be a bit lost on the budget, which keeps changing between 55 and 60 million dollars while remaining confident of holding of elections this year.

The reconquest of the sovereignty of Haiti, a priority for OPL

Also he has shown openness, saying to be prepared to work with other political leaders in order to change the country's image.
