Haiti - Education : Education is «the priority of priorities» dixit Michaëlle Jean

Following the Dakar Forum (in Senegal in 2000), Michaëlle Jean, the Secretary General of the Francophonie, participating in the World Education Forum 2015 organized by UNESCO from 19 to 21 May in Incheon (Republic of Korea) which brings together the international educational community in order to adopt global targets for 2030 and set the framework for action that will allow to achieve them.

Upon arrival, the Secretary-General convened a meeting of ministers, ambassadors and Francophone Heads of Delegation, to reiterate them, including the need to make hear the voice of Francophone countries, whose many are facing many challenges, despite the great potential they have.

"I'm here because we must all convince us (States, international organizations, civil society) that Education is not a priority among many, but THE priority of priorities, because investing in education means investing in development, investing in good governance, investing in safety and peace," she declared.

During this Forum, which is a major event on the international agenda, to which also participates a Haitian delegation led by Nesmy Manigat, the Minister of National Education https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-13890-haiti-educationnesmy-manigat-will-participate-to-the-world-education-forum-2015-wef.html , Michaëlle Jean will meet with personalities and key players in the field of education.
