Haiti - Agriculture : Tripartite Agreement to support the financing and agricultural insurance

Tuesday, Fresner Dorcin, the Minister of Agriculture Minister of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Rural Development and the Ambassadors of Canada and Switzerland accredited in Haiti, initialed an Agreement of 5 million US dollars, in order to expand at the national level the program of Financing System and Agricultural Insurance in Haiti (SYFAAH). The amount of this agreement brings to nearly $ 26 million the total funding of this tri-partite initiative, which was launched in 2011 and will end in 2018. Recall that the SYFAAH aims to develop a funding system based on the construction of a partnership between the public sector and the private sector in order to structure, globally, the financial service offer for agro-entrepreneurs with the ultimate goal to revive the agricultural and rural economy, create jobs and improve food security in Haiti.
