Haiti - Politic : US Government support for administrative reform

As part of its program of support for administrative reform launched by the Government of Haiti in November 2012, the US Agency for International Development (USAID) has provided the Office of Management and Human Resources (OMRH) 4 lots of materials and equipment worth about 65,000 US dollars.

Materials provided include: a first batch of equipment containing communication equipment (roaming microphone, camera photo, TV, video camera, projector and audio recorder...); a second lot intended to the different services of the OMRH including centralized printer, a third lot aimed at making more reliable the data storage system at the central file and finally a last lot includes computer hardware that will be used in the context of the implementation of the e-governance component.

This support in materials and equipment will allow in particular an increased production and operational capacity of the OMRH Communication Unit, an increased security capabilities of the central database and the improvement of the collaborative work within OMRH.

Uder Antoine, thanked the US government for such support and stressed that such equipment and materials that will contribute to the achievement of results related to projects of administrative reform will be well maintained and managed in accordance with the procedures and standards of USAID.

"We believe in the mission and the leadership of the OMRH and we are proud of this partnership," declared N'Kunzimana, National Representative to USAID "It is in this sense that the United States Government, as part of its institutional strengthening program, providing its support to the Government of Haiti and engages on a competitive basis, Haitian experts in various capacities throughout the KONEKTE Programme (Konesans ak Konpetans Teknik) to technically support the OMRH and several ministries.

Took part in this delivery ceremony of materials and equipment, Uder Antoine, General Coordinator of the OMRH, Alphonse N'Kunzimana, National Representative of USAID, Ms. Mélissa Rosser, of the Directorate of Governance and Democracy of the USAID, Anna van Rooyen, Head of Mission of KONEKTE project, Ms. Marlène Gay, Program Advisor KONEKTE and Harold Mompoint Jeune, General Coordinator of the National School of Administration and Public Policies (ENAPP).
