Sunday, on the premises of the Department Directorate of Tourism South, 71 youth of the First Promotion of the Institute of Hotel and Tourist Training of Les Cayes (IFORHT South), the first State School of Hotel and Tourist outside Port-au-Prince, https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-7769-haiti-tourism-hotel-and-tourism-training-institute-in-les-cayes.html received during a ceremony, their parchments after two years of training in tourist reception.

"The South, once again, expressed its enormous potential to be a large pool of Tourism in the Country. I am pleased to see today this first promotion of the School completed the curriculum," declared Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Industries. She also paid tribute to the dynamism of Karine Condé, her departmental Director of the South, "which has managed to combine her efforts to realize this project in the city of Les Cayes, throughout the South Coast region."

For its part, the sponsor of this Promotion, Richard Buteau, outgoing President of the Tourism Association of Haiti (ATH), stressed the importance of training in the tourism industry "I welcome you in the great family of tourism dear youth."

Valery Numa, owner of the hotel "Le Recul" in Camp Perrin, praised the professionalism that has been shown by these young graduates of the IFORHT during their internships at his hotel.

Recall that IFORHT South, operates in two shifts (morning and evening), with a curriculum offering general courses on tourist reception. By the academic year 2015-2016, the Institute will provide students with specializations in kitchen pastry and bakery. By April 2015, the foreign language courses will also be added to the curriculum.
