As part of its vast tourism sector revaluation program, to put the country on the world tourist map, Haiti participated in the 49th edition of the world largest tourism fair ITB Berlin, from 4 to 8 March. During five days ITB Berlin attracted 10.096 exhibitors from 186 countries and welcomed 175,000 visitors, 155,000 tourism professionals (114,000 in 2014). Cyber ​​security, collaborative economy, sustainable tourism, social and environmental responsibility, cultural tourism were among the main topics of debate in this 2015 edition.

During the fair, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Industries (MTIC) held several meetings with industry professionals and specialized firms. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry and the German Aviareps Group, the world leader in tourism and airlines, which is committed to offer over the next 12 months, a marketing courtesy service for the promotion of Haiti in Germany.

Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism has had very fruitful meeting with the Spanish hotel chain Catalonia, which has shown interest to visit the southern region of Haiti in April.

She also met with Carlos Vogler, Director and Executive Secretary for Relations with Members to the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) around the 58th Meeting of the UNWTO Commission for the Americas to be held in Haiti in May.
