Haiti - Tourism : «Today, Haiti has just taken a giant step» dixit Stéphanie Villedrouin

Wednesday at the Consulate of Haiti in New York, Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Industries (MTIC), proceeded at the launch of the first promotional campaign on Haiti through specialized American TV channels.

This media campaign sets in rotation video spots of 30 seconds with a 24/7 broadcast frequency on specialized channels located on "Optimum Channel 650" and an advertising campaign on www.news12.com/

"Today, Haiti has just taken a giant step

towards the resumption of its place as one of the main tourist destinations in the Caribbean," declared Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, Minister of Tourism and Creative Industries. "We could not be more pleased to have worked with 'Cablevision Media Sales' on this campaign and we can not wait to exhibit the tourist charms of Haiti to viewers in the New York area."

This new tourism campaign for Haiti aims to attract the Haitian diaspora as well as large public leisure travelers. Advertising messages will air in major cable networks in the region of the three states of New York.

"Innovative, it allows not only to back Haiti definitely on the tourist map, but it also gives consumers the opportunity to plan is trips through our own interactive channel," stated Minister Villedrouin.

Indeed, the destinations Channel dedicated to this campaign, offers viewers an interactive and practical travel device via their own TVs. With the remote control, viewers are able to search and select from a video library, detailed information on attractions, hotels, tourist guides, events, beaches, for more than 24 hours a day and seven days a week.

"Our new campaign will run for an initial period of five months ending in June, but this is only the beginning," indicated Stéphanie Villedrouin "Just as behind every mountain, there are more mountains in Haiti, as will our promotional efforts to continue to grow beyond what has been done so far."
