Haiti - Security : The coordination of demobilized soldiers called for the restoration of the army

Wednesday, at a press conference Jean Fednel Lafalaise Coordinator General for the Coordination of demobilized soldiers, accompanied in particular by Joseph Noel and Sergeant Yves Jeudy, deplored the fact that more than 20 years after the dysfunction of the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAD`H), the country still lacks an army, to ensure the security of the country.

Arguing for the departure of the Minustah, they wished that Lener Renauld, the Minister of Defense take the necessary steps to achieve the restoration of the army, urging the President Martelly to appoint a new Commander in Chief and issue an order for the remobilization of FADH.

"We are ready to offer 36 months of free service to the country and bring order where chaos reigns," said Sergeant Yves Jeudy, who recalled that Haiti suffered annual losses estimated at nearly 500 million dollars at the border.

According to Jean Fednel Lafalaise and Joseph Noel, more than 14,000 young people have already been trained by the military demobilized throughout the country, including nearly 7,000 in the metropolitan area.
