Haiti - Diplomacy : U.S. Ambassador visited the Minister Casimir

Monday, Pierre Richard Casimir, the new Minister of Justice and Public Security, has received the visit of the U.S. Ambassador to Haiti, Pamela Anne White, who was accompanied by the Director of the US Agency for International Development (USAID-Haiti).

This visit, qualified of courtesy by the Ministry was the occasion for the American diplomat to congratulate the new Minister of Justice for his new role and to reiterate its willingness to cooperate with the Minister Casimir and give him all the support needed to accomplish its mission.

In particular, Ambassador White has promised the support of the U.S Government to the judges certification process, which was jointly launched by the Ministry of Justice and Public Safety and the Superior Council of the Judiciary (CSPJ). She also says willing to help to the computerization of the Haitian penal system, which will promote a better management of various criminal cases across the country.

The Casimir Minister, for his part, thanked the Ambassador for the United States assistance to improve the Haitian judicial system and renewed his commitment to work towards a better functioning of the judiciary.

This so-called courtesy visit, occurs 24 hours after the request of the Minister Casimir to the Security Council, not to reduce the number of troops of the Minustah during the electoral process but on the contrary to reinforce troops of the UN mission https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-13032-haiti-security-the-government-asked-the-maintenance-and-strengthening-of-the-minustah.html Coincidence ?
