Haiti - Diplomacy : The International Community encourages Haiti to continue its efforts

Saturday in a note, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations and other members of the international community in Haiti represented in the "Core Group" (the ambassadors of Brazil, Canada, Spain, France, the States States of America, the European Union, and the Special Representative of the Organization of American States) welcome the installation of Prime Minister Evans Paul, the formation of the Government, and the establishment of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP).

They encourage the new government to create the political and security conditions necessary to ensure the holding of fair elections, credible and inclusive.

In addition, the international community, is pleased that the CEP with its new members, can continue its operations independently, to ensure transparency and impartiality of the electoral process.

The "Core Group" confirms its support to the efforts of all relevant stakeholders for the strengthening of stability, consolidation of democracy and the restoration of full functioning of the institutions.
