Haiti - Reconstruction :

A roundtable, organized, last Friday by the American Chamber of Commerce in the Dominican Republic, has united under the theme "The Dominican Republic, role in the reconstruction of Haiti", several international experts Frederic Emam-Zade, Senior Economist for the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (FUNGLODE), historian and consultant in institutional economic development in the Dominican Republic, Frank Moya Pons and Reginald Boulos President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Haiti.

Experts stressed that the international community and the Dominican Republic have obligations to the reconstruction of Haiti, noting that Haiti's development also opens an opportunity for growth of the Dominican Republic. After the roundtable, participants recommended a tripartite agreement between the United States, the Dominican Republic and Haiti, to advance the reconstruction and development of Haiti.

Let us recall that Réginald Boulos was also the guest last week of the Chamber of commerce of Montreal. During his speech he mentioned "a country develops through the creation of jobs, which can not be done without the contribution of foreign investors". He had invited business people, including Haitians, to think of being established in Haiti or to consider contracting opportunities. Emphasizing the possibility of investing in individual cases in areas such as textiles, agriculture, tourism or construction of housing. "The earthquake of January has forced us to stop us for better setting out again. It's always from a crisis arises growth, new ideas and new results "", he concluded.
