Haiti - Health : Sophia Martelly in Cité Soleil

Monday, the First Lady of the Republic, Sophia Martelly, went to Cité Soleil. Welcomed with great enthusiasm by the residents, she first visited the Boston neighborhood where, thanks to the support of the Office of Insurance Work Accident, Sickness and Maternity (OFATMA) and the team from the mobile clinic who accompanied her, 869 people were able to receive health assistance in areas such as dermatology, pediatrics, orthopedics and internal medicine.

She then went to Ste Catherine Labouré Hospital in the Brooklyn neighborhood, to see the status of services and assess the needs of this old health facility of more than 30 years.

Residents of the city, took advantage of the presence of the First Lady, to give her their grievances, especially on sanitation, access to clean water and basic social services.

Very satisfied with her visit, Sophia Martelly shared with the population her joy to be among it "I'm very happy to be in Cité Soleil today. The Martelly administration is very sensitive to your concerns, in union and stability we can change things."
