Haiti - Politic : High level political dialogue between Haiti and the European Union

Thursday took place the second session of the High-level political dialogue between Haiti and the European Union, remember that the first meeting took place in Haiti December 12, 2013 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-10110-haiti-politic-dialogue-at-the-highest-level-between-haiti-and-the-eu.html

The objective of this dialogue was to deepen the partnership between the two parties by encouraging mutual understanding and defining common priorities. For this purpose, all issues of mutual interest were discussed in a frank and open manner, by giving priority to listening and respect. The two sides agreed to hold this dialogue on a regular basis.

The session of the dialogue of 4 December 2014 was co-chaired by Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe and the Ambassador of the European Union, Javier Niño Perez. The Haitian delegation included Duly Brutus, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Marie-Carmelle Jean-Marie, Minister of Economy and Finance, Wilson Laleau, Minister of Trade and Industry and the National Authorising Officer of the European Development Fund, Jean Edner Nelson.

For the European Union and its Member States, Ambassador Pérez was accompanied by the German Ambassador Klaus Peter Schick, the Spanish Ambassador, Manuel Lorenzo Garcia Ormaechea, the Ambassador of France, Patrick Nicoloso, the UK Ambassador Steven Fisher and the Honorary Consul of the Netherlands, Robin Padberg, who represented the Ambassador of the Netherlands.

Recall that in addition to being a major development partner for Haiti, the European Union has established itself as an actor that promotes ownership of aid and scrupulously respects national sovereignty and non-interference. These principles are of paramount importance in the current political context.
