Two Haitian citizens, a man and a woman, Dorvil Hugneau, 36 years, and Brévil Marie Dominique, 25 years were imprisoned at the prison Palmasola (Santa Cruz) in Bolivia. Maria Rivero, coordinator of the special victims unit of the prosecutor in Santa Cruz said "They are detained for human trafficking, and incur a sentence of 8 to 12 years of prison".

The business goes back to the end of January, after the seism, where the 2 Haitians arrived to Bolivia with a group of 18 minors on tourist visas. The group, had travelled via Panama and Peru where they had been driven back in their attempt to gain Brazil indicated the legal sources. Justice had opened an investigation into the two Haitian nationals last March, at the same time as it dealt with the 18 young people.

According Margoth Vargas, the prosecutor handling the case in Santa Cruz "Children and adolescents were sent by these two individuals to Bolivia equipped with a single document signed by lawyers" During the arrest of two Haitians, the children were supported by the Defense Agency for Children of Santa Cruz, while the investigation continues to identify families or a possibility of adoption. Since March, several children could be joined together again with their family in Haiti.
