The General Tax Directorate (DGI) has resumed in a continuous manner the rhythm of monthly Directorate Councils, which were held sporadically for some time. On the agenda of the last Board of Directors many points were discussed: the new tax provisions of the order adopting the fiscal year 2014-2015 budget including the increase in tax identification number of the tariff; the inventory of the campaign on flat tax, of the installment on the income tax for the first tranche (October) and the outlook for the second installment for professionals (November); the progress of the delivery of the new state license plates; an update of the revenue achievements versus expectations.

The installments, the flat tax, the filing of Financial Statements and the distribution campaign for new license plates have been the focal points of the last Governing Board, which was attended by the Directors of Central Services and the Heads of Tax Centers (CDI) of the metropolitan area (the Departmental Directors of Taxes (DDI) having not been invited this time).

On the sidelines of the meeting, it was decided to concentrate efforts on screening of new taxpayers, with the prospect of expanding the tax base, given that apart from the substantial increase in the rate of tax identification number, which now knows three price levels (150 gourdes for the unemployed, 300 gourdes for employees and 1,000 gourdes for legal persons), there is no major changes in the tax legislation.

With regard of the delivery campaign of the plates, the Director of Operations believes it is on a good track. The issuance of new plates constitutes a pool for exponential growth in revenue achievements at the final tax return on income, to the extent that the two obligations are concomitant, simultaneous, the new plates are not issued to an applicant who has not paid its final declaration under the 2013-2014 fiscal year.

With regard of revenue realizations of October, according to Henri Claude César without the figures of the province, 2.47 billion of Gdes were collected, a record according to him, that will have to be maintain to achieve the target set by the Ministry of Economy and Finances for the current year of 25.6 billion Gdes.
